A new week brings you three things I think are worth your time...

I know I briefly touched on watching Ne Zha because I was screening the sequel Ne Zha II last week, so let’s talk about it! Ne Zha II comes out this week (which is why I conveniently left it out of the previous blog 😊) and honestly, out of the 3 movies I saw last week, this was the clear winner. Thankfully I had done my homework and watched Ne Zha (Peacock) before the screening. Please, PLEASE, watch the first if you have any intention of going to see Ne Zha II. And hopefully, you WILL go and see it. Both of these movies are visual animation treats that can’t be adequately described. It was some of the most beautiful, most impressive, stunning animation I have ever seen. And it’s not just visual fluff, the story, based on Chinese mythology, is fun as well. August is a slow month for good cinematic entertainment, so do yourself and your kids a favor and check out both. Ne Zha can be found on Peacock (4/5) Ne Zha II will be in theaters this week (4/5) Not every sequel hits the mark...check out my review on Nobody 2 for a different experience.

Peacemaker 2 comes out August 21 on HBO and full confession…I haven’t seen the first season. I enjoyed Superman (even though you had to give it a 5/5 or else you hated it…don’t get me started) and the little I know about James Gunn DCverse, Peacemaker 2 is supposed to pick up right after the movie. I’m not too well versed in DC, so I’ve been working on reading some Batman comics to get myself familiarized and watching shows like Peacemaker and Creature Commandos. So let’s see if I can bulldoze through 8 (?) episodes before the new season starts. I know next to nothing about this character or series, so this should be fun.

Losing the series to the Yankees at home…not surprising, honestly. And watching Goldschmidt hit a double to drive in a run to seal the deal for the Yankees? Painful, but again…not surprising. Not every player the Cardinals release improves, but anyone who thought his down 2024 season was indicative of his demise is kinda dumb. It’s CRAZY when “fans” forget these guys are human and can experience slumps. Plus add in the extra crazy of Cardinals fans, who are the type to toss the board if losing at Monopoly…equals social media comedy. I’m sure every fanbase has their own “Chicken Little” base, but lord have mercy… Needless to say, it’s gonna be a long few years because of the hole the FO dug over the years, but it’s BASEBALL. A GAME. It’s fun to watch the best of the best get up there and run this 162 game marathon. Chill out, peeps. They’re doing something you’ll never be skilled enough to do…just enjoy it.
Tomorrow I'm seeing AMC Mystery Movie on Monday so interested in seeing what's in store this week at the movies...until later xoxo
